Flat Rocks!

Catalonia has a stunning coastline with many, many rocky coves. Fortunately there are some stunners within a short walking distance. This particular one is called Cala de Roques Planes - Flat Rocks Cove. The flat rocks which give the cove its name are out of shot to the left but this particular rock is the star of the show for photographers.

The cove lies between Sant Antoni de Calonge and Platja d’Aro about a 20 minute walk from our Catalonia base and adjacent to the long-distance hiking trail known as the Costa Brava Way (GR92). The trail runs for about 155 miles along the coast of Catalonia and up into France at a town called Collioure - a great place for lunch as you can see below from the photos I took on my last trip there.
